The Federal Cybersecurity Workforce Assessment Act of 2015 required the establishment of procedures to implement the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) coding structure and to identify all Federal civilian positions that require the performance of information technology, cybersecurity, or other cyber-related functions. To comply with the Act, the 2013 cybersecurity codes (i.e., the Cybersecurity Data Standard) were updated, contained in the Guide to Data Standards, to map to the NICE coding structure.
